Plot synopsis:

Negi Springfield is a ten-year-old wizard from Wales. After graduating from the Merdiana Magic Academy in Wales, Negi is given a duty as a cover in the real world, and training. That duty is to become an English teacher at Mahora Academy in Japan. The task will not be easy, however, as Negi will become a teacher to a Middle School class of 31 older girls.

Main characters:

Negi Springfield (Negi Supuringufirudo)
He is the main protagonist. He is a mage in training and the homeroom and English teacher of Class 3-A (formerly 2-A) of Mahora Academy Middle School for girls. He is a kind-hearted boy, with a very optimistic outlook toward life. Though he is just ten years old, he at times shows maturity far beyond his years. He has above all devoted his life to stepping in his fathers footsteps and finding him.


Asuna Kagurazaka (Kagurazaka Asuna)
Asuna, the main heroine, is an orphan who was allowed into the school free by the school dean. Negi and Asuna's relationship starts on very shaky ground, but quickly improves as they get to know one another. Asuna tends to act like an older sister towards Negi, and is fiercely protective of him, whether from enemies, the overly-affectionate (and perverted, in her opinion) schemes and actions of her classmates, or even Negi's own drive and ambition.


Konoka Konoe (Konoe Konoka)
She is the cheerful, helpful and slightly naive roommate of Asuna Kagurazaka. From birth, Konoka was tied to several powerful magical organizations and daughter of the school's dean, yet she was sent away kept in the dark about her heritage of magic. Only after a trip to her home in Kyoto does Konoka finally discover the power locked away and allies with Negi in order to release it to her fullest potential.


Evangeline Athanasia Katherine McDowell (Evanjerin Atanashia Katerin Makudaueru)
She is actually a centuries-old vampire cursed to remain at the school by Nagi Springfield, the father of her teacher Negi Springfield. Initially an antagonist for Negi due to his father's actions, she eventually becomes an important teacher and guide for the young mage and his allies as they fight and search for his missing father. However, Eva remains a cruel, powerful mage in her own right, yet with the sensitivities of her former human life.
